Job Summary

Desert Ridge Family Physicians is a premiere Family Practice office located in Northeast Phoenix, near the intersection of the 51 and 101.

We have a patient-centered philosophy, and partner with our patients to achieve optimal health.

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our clinical staff. Responsibilities include : rooming patients, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing routine lab tests (venipuncture), spirometry, EKG's, referrals, scanning, assisting physicians, and communicating with patients both on phone and by portal. Qualified applicants must be reliable, well-organized, and a team player. Must have 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a back-office setting. Must be proficient with medical terminology, medications, computers and have experience with EHR software. Experience with family practice is a plus, as is knowledge of Athena.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment
• Clean instruments and equipment after use
• Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
• Assist doctors with basic medical care and procedures
• Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties

Qualifications

• BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant desired
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
