You will be part of the McKinsey Optimize function that delivers distinctive, positive and productive experiences through various services ranging from travel, events, real estate, sourcing, technology and purchasing. As a Purchasing Operations Manager for our People category, you will be based out of San Jose, Costa Rica and be part of our Global Purchasing Team. This team helps the firm to preserve value and mitigate risk by designing and operating colleague-centric third-party channels that incorporate the required level of control to protect the firm from risk while ensuring that colleagues can easily follow the digital process.
In this role, you will lead the day-to-day execution of the category buying channel, ensuring adherence to the five critical controls to enable an efficient process for buying, invoicing and payment. You will own the buying channel process to include detangling bottlenecks and refining and streamlining the process. As part of your role you will act as the primary point of contact for the category regarding buying channel issues, and you will facilitate the escalation of critical issues to responsible colleagues, ensuring resolution in a timely manner.
Your role will involve identifying sub-activity owners and their responsibilities and ensure all tasks stay on track to meet objectives and SLAs. This includes interacting with internal stakeholders within Optimize, such as the Third-Party Risk, Adoption & Performance, and Solutions teams, as well as with other teams across the firm, including Finance Operations, Legal, CSPs, and Local Offices. You’ll have the opportunity to acquire new skills and further develop your existing strengths within the firm.
