What You Will Do

  • Conduct evaluations for patients encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and keen observations.
  • Formulate individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate and future communication, cognitive, and swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers, ensuring a unified approach to patient care.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to empower ongoing progress beyond the therapy room.
  • Engage in infrequent inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, maintaining continuity of care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Keep precise and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Commit to ongoing education and training, staying informed about the evolving landscape of speech therapy.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days post-employment.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based methodologies catering to all ages with proficiency in addressing developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
