Job Title : Overnight Dispatcher

Location : Des Moines, IA

Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as an Overnight Dispatcher based out of our Des Moines Branch . We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest region for over 130 years. We distribute to 11 different states across our 6 locations. As an Overnight Dispatcher you are responsible for the daily routing using customer location information to maximize route efficiency and delivery window performance. Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and previous computer skills are required to be successful in this position. You will take direction from all levels of management and work closely with both the Warehouse, Customer Service, and Transportation Teams. Duties include completing daily yard checks, printing driver manifests while prepping invoicing area, and updating drivers in case of delays.

Pay : $19 with opportunity for up to $1 increase at 90 days, based on attendance / job performance

What we look for :

  • Previous computer experience required
  • High attention to detail with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently within a team setting
  • Able to take direction from all levels of management

What you’ll do :

  • Daily routing based on location parameters using Transportation Management System (TMS) to maximize route efficiency & delivery window performance.
  • Monitor route completion status and shorts in Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Record all driver arrivals, work with Transportation Manager in the event of a call out / no show. Noting any delays for the Driver Departure Report
  • Ensure invoices and paperwork are ready for drivers prior to their departure
  • Verify that all routes are being tracked correctly, editing route assignments or transferring data to the correct equipment
  • Assist drivers with any truck / product issues or invoice / route questions as needed
