Job Description

The Quality Manager (Metals) will :

  • Lead the Quality Assurance team to ensure manufacturing processes meet customer quality requirements
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering to fully understand and incorporate customer specifications
  • Develop and document inspection methods to ensure consistent production quality
  • Oversee customer complaint resolution and corrective action implementation
  • Manage and support quality activities related to supplier quality, lab testing, and audits
  • Champion and maintain compliance with the company's Quality Management System and ISO-9001 standards
  • Participate in new product launch planning and support subsequent production lots
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement in process development
  • Lead large process improvement projects and cross-functional teams
  • Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for Quality Assurance associates
  • Communicate quality requirements effectively across teams and to external stakeholders
  • Ensure thorough documentation and reporting to support quality objectives and customer satisfaction

The Successful Applicant

The successful Quality Manager (Metals) applicant will have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring technical teams
  • Strong understanding of ISO-9001 standards and Quality Management Systems
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and advanced Microsoft Excel; intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing customer complaints, audits, and corrective actions
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection methods
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects and new product launches
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
