Behavior Specialist
We are looking for a Behavior Specialist to join our Community Based Services team! The individual in this key position will develop person-specific behavior support plans, train staff, and provide direct oversight of the implementation of the plan and be responsible for program oversight to include policy development and compliance with applicable state, federal, and licensing requirements.
Responsibilities include :
- Provide training to direct support staff and management staff in the areas of physical interventions, non-aversive behavior supports, client rights, incident reporting, data collection and person specific plans & protocols.
- Adhere to local Human Rights Committee requirements and deadlines to maintain up to date behavior support plans / interventions.
- Facilitate and track the documentation of target behaviors as specified in each individual's behavior support plan or guidelines and formally summarize on a quarterly basis and annual basis.
- Using functional analysis procedures, develop comprehensive behavioral interventions and training plans using non-aversive approaches.
- Develop protocols and guidelines for individuals served including but not limited environmental restrictions, safety protocols, fade plans, and crisis interventions.
- Develop data collection & tracking systems for staff, providers and / or families.
- Provide direct behavioral consultation to clients and ensure communication to treatment teams.
- Work with department managers to identify individuals who require psychological services.
- Attend and participate in all applicable clinical and person-specific meetings.
- Participate in psycho-educational for ongoing professional development.
- Responsible for processing appropriate billing materials and documentation.
- Develop clinical rationales to support ongoing behavioral support and funding.
- Maintain weekly utilization of 65% (26 billable hours).
- Respond to request for proposals based on analysis of program needs.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or Psychology, ORTwelve (12) years' experience may be substituted for the Master's Degree, ORCombination of Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field with two (2) years' experience with the targeted population may be substituted for Master's Degree and required working experienceMinimum of two (2) years' experience working with people who have developmental disabilities preferredValid driver's license and reliable transportationCompensation :
