Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Report Writer to join our team on a project basis. In this role, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive technical reports in accordance with industry standards such as API 653, API 650, API 570, and ASME. You'll review inspection data, NDE results, and engineering evaluations to produce accurate and clear documentation on an as needed, independent contractor basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare technical reports in accordance with API 653 and related standards (API 650, API 570, ASME, etc.).
  • Review field inspection data, non-destructive examination (NDE) results, and engineering evaluations to produce accurate, comprehensive documentation.
  • Ensure reports are compliant with industry regulations, client requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with inspectors, engineers, and project teams to gather technical details and ensure accuracy of findings.
  • Standardize report templates and maintain consistency across documentation.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and professional written reports.
  • Conduct quality checks and edits to eliminate errors, ambiguities, and inconsistencies.
  • Support audit preparation and client presentations with well-structured technical documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of API 653 and working familiarity with related codes (API 650, API 570, ASME).
  • Experience working with inspection data, drawings, and engineering calculations.
  • Exceptional technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with report generation software preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

    • Education / Certification :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
