The City of Chesapeake, Virginia, Planning Department is seeking a detail-oriented and responsive individual with excellent customer service skills to oversee address and street name assignment, in-take of critical development documents, and updates of public information. Additional responsibilities will include customer service, database updates, and collaboration with Planning staff and other City departments. Experience with Geographic Information Systems and knowledge of the property development process is preferred. Vocational / Educational Requirement : Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in planning, drafting, or a closely related field.
Experience : In addition to satisfying the vocational / education standards, this class requires a minimum of six months of full-time equivalent experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses : Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record in compliance with the City’s Driving Standards.
Special Requirements : Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and / or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
