Principal RF Test Engineer
Principal RF Test Engineer position located in Torrance, California, United States. Duties
- Design, build, and support sophisticated automated test systems to test high-performance RF, digital, and power electronics in both production and prototype environments.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to support end-to-end development cycles of complex RF systems from requirement generation to requirement selloff.
- Propose and execute novel test solutions to rapidly prototype, test, and inform iterative design.
- Develop maintainability and calibration plans for RF test sets.
- Identify and recommend RF test assets, capabilities, and technology.
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of experience across all aspects of RF device / system testing, including test planning, conducting, and reporting, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degreeStrong knowledge of common RF components such as splitters, attenuators, amplifiers, and frequency converters and their general RF performance characteristics.Solid theoretical understanding of RF test and measurement principlesHighly proficient in using RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzer, power meter, High-Speed Oscilloscopes, Waveform & Signal Generator, Power Meters, AutoCal Modules, SOLT Calibration ModulesKnowledge of RF design tools such as HFSS and ADSExperience with designing automated test systems for various types of hardwareComfortable with object-orientated programming such as C++, C, Python, RubyStrong documentation skills to track and root cause non-conforming hardwareAbility to cover the entire test system lifecycle independentlyGood written and oral communication skillsCollaborative and capable of working across all levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentLeadership skills to guide and instruct junior test engineersUS Citizen or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)Desired Qualifications
Prior RF design experience, proficient in using ADS and HFSSPrior PCB design experience, comfortable with using AltiumLeadership skills to guide and instruct junior test engineers and lead investigation efforts for RF failuresKnowledge of EMI / EMC principles and how they affect the reliability of RF testingITAR REQUIREMENTS : To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is : $146,000 - $178,500 USD
