Machinist

30 - $40 / hr | Indianapolis, IN

Job Description

  • Experience with titanium, Inconel, and other specialty materials.
  • Familiarity with Okuma LU300, LU400, LB2000, and LB3000 machines.
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
  • Perform various forms of setups, including boring soft / hard jaws or using collet chucks.
  • Read blueprints and job routers to determine product specifications, with tolerances ranging from .0005" to .005".
  • Machine stainless steel and high-temperature alloys such as HastX, Inconel, and 17-4.
  • Set speeds, feeds, and depth of cut according to material specifications.
  • Utilize appropriate measuring tools and devices, including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and pins.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Mastercam, blueprint reading, lathe machining.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, CNC programming, and G&M code.
  • Ability to set up and operate machines, with experience in Fanuc, Solidworks, and Autocad.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of machining experience in an R&D manufacturing environment.

  • The work schedule includes 1st shift hours from Monday to Friday, starting between 6-8am, and 2nd shift hours from Monday to Friday, starting at 4pm, with a shift premium of 10% of the hourly rate for the 2nd shift.

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr.
