Robert Half is partnering with a growing start up clean energy development company based out of Colorado to add an experienced Director of Accounting Operations & Project Accounting. This role is 100% remote and offers excellent benefits and growth opportunities. This position is responsible for :

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the accounting operations team
  • Manage quarterly and annual close processes
  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of financial statements, management reports, and other reporting requirements
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Administer or oversee NetSuite system management
  • Lead operational and management reporting on a monthly basis
  • Oversee project and intercompany billing, fixed assets, and capitalization processes
  • Review capitalized cost schedules and ensure compliance with capitalization policies
  • Manage lease accounting reviews and documentation (ASC 842)
  • Partner with the financial reporting team to coordinate deliverables
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit and support transaction processing as needed
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate accruals, prepaids, and other significant items are recorded

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA license required
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong expertise in accounting operations, project billing, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
  • Experience with lease accounting, capitalization, accruals, and eliminations
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-growth environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to adapt to change, accept feedback, and develop new skills
