Robert Half is partnering with a construction client the Denver area on a Financial Analyst opening. The Financial Analyst reports to the Controller of this company.
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting financial operations for a growing construction company. This position is responsible for analyzing project financials, monitoring Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules, implementing cost controls, and providing timely reporting to management. The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with SAP software.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports , ensuring accurate revenue recognition and forecasting.
- Partner with Project Managers to provide financial insights on project performance , including budgets, actuals, variances, and projections.
- Monitor and analyze job cost reports , ensuring proper coding of labor, materials, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes , including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Assist with development and implementation of cost control processes to improve project profitability.
- Work with operations and finance teams to streamline reporting in SAP and ensure accuracy of project data.
- Provide financial modeling, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and industry accounting standards.
This role is 100% in office.
3+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Project Accountant, preferably in the construction industry .Strong knowledge of WIP schedules, job costing, and project accounting principles .Hands-on experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner with both finance and project management teams.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
