Summary : The Cloud Administrator is a critical role within the organization, which is responsible for managing and maintaining the Microsoft Cloud environment while providing technical support to the employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Azure Infrastructure Management :
Provision, configure, and manage Azure resources, including virtual machines (VMs), virtual networks, storage accounts, and other cloud services.
Monitor Azure resources for performance, availability, and security issues.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure.Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions in Azure.Security and Compliance :Implement and manage Azure security best practices, including access control, encryption, and threat detection.
Ensure compliance with relevant security & regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC)Monitor security alerts and respond to security incidents.Cost Optimization :Monitor and optimize Azure cloud spending.
Identify and implement cost-saving measures, such as right-sizing VMs and utilizing reserved instances.Automation :Automate routine tasks using Azure automation tools, such as Azure PowerShell and Azure CLI.
Develop and maintain scripts for provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure resources.Collaboration and Communication :Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to understand and meet their cloud computing needs.
Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Light Helpdesk Ticket Response and Support :Provide occasional support to end-users by responding to and resolving basic technical issues related to Azure services.
Escalate more complex issues to the appropriate support teams.Must abide by all HIPAA, Confidentiality, Security, and Privacy laws.Other IT infrastructure duties may be assigned by your Manager or other Supervisor.Education / Experience :
3+ years of hands-on experience administering Azure cloud services.Proven experience with Azure core services, including VMs, virtual networks, storage, and security.Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI / CD pipelines, Git) is a plus.Technical Skills :Strong understanding of Azure cloud computing concepts and technologies.
Experience with Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups.Knowledge of Azure security best practices and compliance standards.Experience with Azure monitoring and logging services.Experience with Azure automation tools and scripting languages.Non-Technical Skills :Problem-solving and Troubleshooting : Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical audiences.Teamwork : Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals.Time Management : Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Documentation : Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all system configurations and procedures.Proactive Approach : Ability to identify potential problems and implement preventative measures.Continuous Learning : A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry best practices.
