Description :

The Entry-Level CAD Technician is responsible for operating 3D scanning equipment to digitize stone models for fixed restorations including crowns, bridges, and implant cases. This role is essential in accurately capturing model data and preparing digital files for downstream CAD / CAM design and production workflows.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday (08 : 00AM - 04 : 30PM), with some flexibility on start time

Essential Functions

  • Simultaneously operate two 3D dental scanners to digitize stone models for fixed prosthetic cases at the rate of approximately 1 case per 2.5 minute(s).
  • Read and interpret prescriptions included with each case, review accompanying case materials, and identify scanning specifications.
  • Ensure digital scans are completed with high quality, accuracy, and efficiency, and that all relevant case details are properly uploaded into the software system.
  • Maintain proper case flow and documentation through the digital scanning queue.
  • Inspect stone models for defects and collaborate with the model room to resolve issues prior to scanning.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with model room, design team, and other team members regarding digital issues or concerns.
  • Perform software alignment and margin identification as needed based on department protocols.
  • Follow all case scheduling and production goals to support timely workflow.
  • Clean and maintain scanning equipment and digital workstations according to lab protocols.
  • Identify and escalate any problematic or unclear cases requiring further preparation or clarification.
  • Apply sound technical knowledge and attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management to meet evolving business needs.
  • Requirements :

    Education & Experience

    Required

  • Demonstrated computer literacy and comfort using digital interfaces.
  • Experience in roles requiring manual dexterity and precision handling of small tools and materials.
  • Preferred

  • Previous experience in a dental laboratory environment, particularly in fixed prosthetics.
  • Background in dental technology or related healthcare fields.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Sitting - Sitting Continuous for up to 4 hours
  • Standing - Standing Continuous for 8+ hours
  • Bending - Bending or stooping continuously for 8+ hours
  • Lift / Push / Carry - Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 25lbs
  • Vision - The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures
  • Additional Physical Requirements

  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine, 8+ hours
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers, pinch, grasp.
  • Work Conditions

  • Travel : N / A
  • Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment for tasks requiring them.
  • Dust and airborne particles of any kind, such as textile dust, wood, silica.
  • Constant or intermittent noise.
  • The worker is subject to vibration, exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
