We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fabrication & Machining Planner join our dynamic team. Position Summary :

The Fabrication & Machining Material Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating material requirements to support fabrication and machining operations. This role focuses on achieving operational efficiency and commercial success through strategic sourcing analysis, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional planning - excluding direct purchasing activities. The planner will drive cost optimization, support manufacturing strategies, and ensure material readiness to meet project and company objectives.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Analyze material requirements based on engineering drawings, BOMs, and machining tolerances.
  • Identify cost and bundling opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency and support project goals.
  • Research and evaluate vendor capabilities, market conditions, and historical spend to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative sourcing options and streamline material flow.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationship strategies that maximize value and mitigate risk.
  • Support manufacturing sourcing strategies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with contract management policies and escalate supplier performance issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure project-related materials are planned and coordinated effectively.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to material planning and supplier performance.
  • Maintain accurate planning data in ERP systems and ensure compliance with internal procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education & Skills Requirements :

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in fabrication / machining environments with exposure to sourcing or planning.
  • Strong understanding of metals, machining tolerances, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience interpreting engineering prints and specifications.
  • Commercial component knowledge and familiarity with automation industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive cost savings through strategic planning and vendor collaboration.
  • Efficient planning skills and an ability to work independently and to scheduled deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP system experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards.
  • Work Environment : This position operates in a plant and manufacturing environment.

    Work type & Expected hours of work : Regularly works on-site at local Paslin locations. The work schedule is flexible around the core business hours of 8am-430pm, Monday - Friday. This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.

    Physical Demands : The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. May be required to lift / push / pull up to 25lbs.

    Travel : This position may require occasional local travel between Paslin sites and vendors
