Responsible for planning and directing operational programs in which coordination and administrative supervision are the most important aspects of the work. Work involves assisting in overall administration and management. Acts as liaison between the Purchasing Director and other County personnel and the general public. Independently initiates, processes, and follows up on forms and records for purchasing, payroll, and personnel. Assists in the development and submission of Board of County Commissioners’ Procurement Agenda Items; maintains files and records of office correspondence, confidential documents, and reports. Operates computer, MS Office software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Advantage Financial System, scanner, printer, typewriter, copier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, CD or tape recorder, payroll system such as Human Resources Information System (HRIS), TimeServer System. Interprets and explains policy and operating procedures for satisfying ordinances and regulations to personnel and the public. Work is performed with considerable independence under general supervision and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible office experience, which includes six (6) months reviewing, overseeing, and leading the work of others.
PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE : Working as a secretary for senior management / executive personnel; preparing agenda items; scheduling meetings; using MS Word / Excel / Outlook / PowerPoint; preparing payroll using an automated payroll system (e.g., HRIS, TimeServer System); using an ERP system (e.g., Advantage Financial System).
