Employment Classification : Full time, Non-Exempt Hourly

Hours : Monday to Friday 7 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m. with rotating on-call shifts, overtime, and

availability for emergency call outs

Hiring Range : $20.57 to $26.50 depending on experience

HYRUM CITY is accepting resumes for a full time Culinary Water Meter Technician and Reader. Performs a variety of "restricted", journey level, complex technical duties related to coordinating and affecting the culinary water metering system instrument and equipment installation, maintenance, repair and proper reporting of water usage of all customers. Sets up and maintains meter radio technologies. Will be expected to serve as a Cross Connection Control Administrator and obtain cross connection certification.

Provides operational information to the Water as well as meter readings to finance department; assists utility departments to locate meters when repairs or replacements are required; maintains inventory and assists with ordering replacement parts for meters; inspects, tests, calibrates, and repairs all types and sizes of water meters in the shop and / or in the field; maintains records of meter tests and repairs.

• Must possess a valid Utah Drivers License, CDL Preferred
• Must be able to obtain certification as a Level II Utah Water Distribution Operator within twelve (12) months of hiring.
• Must be able to obtain cross connections certification within twelve (12) months of hiring.
• Proficient with various software and preferred GPS software.
• Requires ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor lifting up to 75 pounds and able to twist, kneel, and bend for associated tasks performed in the field.
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold environmental conditions.
• Be available for snow removal from October through April.
• Must work on a twenty-four (24) hour stand-by or on call.
