Tasks and responsibilities :
Development and release of components for wiring systems :
- Design and select appropriate clips, brackets, and fasteners for wire harness mounting and routing.
- Ensure proper strain relief, vibration resistance, and secure attachment of harnesses to vehicle structures.
- Evaluate and validate mechanical attachment solutions through testing and simulation
- Support prototype builds and resolves fitment or routing issues on-site.
- Create design documentation, including component drawings and bill of material.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant norms and standards in wiring system development.
Project management and coordination :
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to integrate components into harness designs and overall vehicle architecture.Work with suppliers to source and qualify mechanical components.Coordinate design activities with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, suppliers, and customers.Monitor and control project progress, including adherence to schedules and budgets.Conduct regular project status updates and reporting to management.Quality assurance and validation :
Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with quality standards.Collaborate with the testing and validation teams to ensure functionality and reliability.Analyze and remediate design and manufacturing issues.Technical support and problem solving :
Provide technical support to production and other departments.Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective solutions and actions.Support the integration of new technologies and innovations into the wiring systems.Documentation and reporting :
Create and maintain technical documentation and reports.Ensure proper archiving of all relevant documents and data. Job Requirements :Education and qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related is preferred.Additional experience and / or qualifications in the field of component design, injection moldings is a requirement.Additional experience in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or comparable qualifications is an advantage.Professional experience :
Several years’ experience in the development and approval of components.Experience in project management and coordination of development projects.Professional competences :
Experience with injection molding designIn-depth knowledge of design release processesExperience with CAD systems and software (e.g. CATIA V5, 3DX, NX).Knowledge of the relevant norms and standards in the automotive industry.Personal skills :
