6am – 2pm M – F

Essential Responsibilities of the Head Cook :
- Preparing and serving food
- cleaning and sanitizing cafeteria spaces
- Cashiering
- Ordering and inventorying supplies
- Record keeping
- Communicating with school and district stakeholders
- Coordinating and supervising food service team members
Qualifications of the Head Cook :
Previous experience as a head cook in a restaurant or cafeteriaAbility to lead the daily food service operations at the middle school cafeteria and all related activitiesAbility to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and vendorsExcellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)Ability to be enthusiastic, friendly, flexible, and a team playerAbility to learn and consistently apply district and school policies and proceduresExperience and knowledge in food service preparation, sanitation, and food service equipmentAbility to take inventory and order supplies as well as keep accurate records of food production, cash receipts, and related informationWillingness and ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hireSelf-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to collaborate with Food Service Director on menu creation, reporting, and food service program implementation and improvementsAbility to operate a cash register and complete necessary technology tasksAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to repeatedly bend, squat, climb, and reachExcellent attendance record
