Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking an Asphalt Lab and Road Technician.

Location : 2401 S. Broadway Ave., Moore, OK 73160, USA / Full-time

Responsibilities :

  • Performs asphalt rolling patterns.
  • Cutting roadway cores with a core drill.
  • Manage and coordinate with technicians on daily tasks and duties.
  • Communication – work in a collaborative environment, which requires strong verbal communication skills and relationships with project owners.
  • Pick up and deliver samples to be tested.
  • Assist in the lab when needed by running gradations, asphalt samples or cores.
  • Identifying and communicating in a timely manner.
  • Time-management – use time-management skills to perform many tasks within a tight deadline.
  • Computer skills – documenting accurate information, which requires basic computer knowledge.

Requirements :

  • High school graduate with strong math / science aptitude.
  • Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, Email, adaptable to in-house software.
  • Read and understand job requirements and technical specifications.
  • Valid drivers license with clean MVR.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective internal and external communication.
  • Must be able to work nights for some projects.
  • Must be able to work at multiple sites / locations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs for long periods of time.

    • Qualifications :

  • Must pass the background check, drug screen / physical.
  • Driving Record – (5 points or less).
  • Good oral and written communication skills – not limited to : cell phone, email, computer, I-pad, etc.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as bending, standing, crouching, shoveling, etc.
  • Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
