Job Summary
This position works to help prepare food for patients in assisted living / skilled nursing. A dietary aide will help plan weekly meals, prepare, and chop ingredients. Additionally, a dietary aide will keep food preparation areas sanitized and orderly. Individuals working in this position generally beginning working in food service as a cook prep-cook.
Essential Functions
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Organize and adjust tables for dining areas, paying special attention to cleanliness and ease of use.
- Assist team members with preparing and cooking meals for the facility.
- Deliver meals and food trays to patients at predetermined times.
- Remove plates and serve ware upon the completion of a patient finishing their meal.
- Discard trash and remove waste after scheduled dining hall times.
- Maintain clean and orderly food stations for buffets and special events.
- Monitor stock and inform management of items running low and in need or re-ordering.
- Assist Food Service Director in creating menus within the budget and requirements of patients.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentMust be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions.Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelinesSkilled in preparing meals according to instructionsApt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliancesMust have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, Residents, families, and visitors.Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be flexible to work varied schedule based on special events, emergencies, programs, and trips.Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions.Pushing and pulling heavy objects.Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and / or fingers, talking and / or hearing, and seeing.Benefits : Paid Time Off (PTO)
