Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing hazardous building materials surveys and indoor air quality assessments including testing for asbestos containing building materials, lead-based paint, and mold / moisture issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in the building and construction trade, or in the disaster restoration industry.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Performs testing and sampling duties as directed using well-defined procedures.
  • Operates and maintains a variety of testing / monitoring equipment.
  • Must achieve and maintain various environmental certifications and licenses required to complete environmental work.
  • Communicate with various individuals as applicable regarding the job site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
  • Submit samples to appropriate lab under chain of custody.
  • Reviews laboratory results and together with field generated data and observations, prepares preliminary reports.
  • Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
  • Ability to self-manage planning and timing to complete daily work as assigned.
  • Follows safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
  • Conducts self in a professional and responsible manner on all projects.
  • Always adheres to confidentiality of company information and activities.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment, vehicles and work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

The successful candidate MUST possess the following skills :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in the field of construction or disaster restoration / remediation  ideally with IICRC accreditation. Relevant experience and training will influence compensation.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
  • Clean criminal background is required to obtain and maintain regulatory licensing.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft office products, primarily Word and Excel
