We are a design and fabrication company specializing in architectural placemaking, large-scale public art and experiential design.

Our team of designers, fabricators, artists, welders & technologists work with clients to create projects across numerous industries. We collaborate every step of the way, taking pride in the talents and creative skills of our team.

One Hat One Hands 25,000 square foot studio houses our administrative offices and is equipped with a wood shop, metal shop, paint shop with spray booth, CNC router facility and a daylight studio for a variety of functions.

Overview :

The Facilities Team ensures that the Facility and Equipment are in safe working condition, the shop is clean, materials are received, labeled, and stored correctly, tools and supplies are accounted for.

Position in Organization :

  • Reports To : Head Of Production

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Open / Close Shop for Workday
  • Maintain a Clean Shop, Inside and Out
  • Clear Garbage, Woodbin, and Recycling
  • On Call for Security Questions, Locking Up, etc.
  • Assisting with prep for Client Visits
  • Prepping Equipment and Workspaces for Crews
  • Acquire, Deliver and Store Materials
  • Maintain Inventory
  • Proper Haz-Mat Disposal, Waste Removal and Dump Runs
  • Contribute to positive morale in the shop
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are met
  • Serve as Eyes and Ears on the Shop Floor
  • Keep Up-To-Date Records and Logs
  • Check out tools from Tool Library to other staff
  • Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Willing to Work on a Flexible Schedule as Needed
  • Keep on top of Maintenance and General Facility Needs
  • Forklift and other Heavy Equipment Operation
  • Make Runs, Deliveries and Purchases
  • Assist with Installs and Fabrication as Needed
  • Essential Skills and Experience :

  • At least 3 years exp. in a Facilities or Maintenance position (preferably in the fabrication industry)
  • Ability to operate Forklift, 24 Box truck, various other Equipment as needed
  • Clear CA DMV License / Insurable for Driving
  • Proficient knowledge of wood, steel and acrylic fabrication techniques & Tools
  • Basic Electrical, Plumbing, Maintenance Skills and Other Trades
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety issues relating to workplace
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and work well with a team
  • Take Responsibility for Mistakes, Fix Them and Learn
  • Knowledge of commercial construction schedules, procedures and protocols
  • Up-to-date Smartphone and Computer Skills for Slack, Gsuite, and other programs as needed
  • Able to work in g-sheets and for inventory responsibilities
  • Physical Demands / Environmental Factors :

  • 1. Physical strength and stamina
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling : Regularly handling objects, tools, and materials, including potentially heavy or bulky items. Examples include lifting equipment for repairs, moving materials for projects, or clearing debris.

  • Prolonged standing and walking : Spending long periods on their feet, moving around the facility, and standing while performing tasks.
  • Climbing and working at heights : Safely ascending ladders, scaffolding, and other structures to access equipment or areas at elevation.
  • Working in various body positions : Frequently kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching, often in awkward or uncomfortable positions.
  • 2. Dexterity and coordination

  • Handling tools and equipment : Proficiently using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools common to facilities maintenance, such as drills, wrenches, and specialized equipment.
  • Operating machinery : Driving forklifts, tractors, loaders, or other company vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently,according to Hazelett Strip-Casting Corporation.
  • Fine motor skills : Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with small parts, wiring, or intricate machinery.
  • 3. Sensory abilities

  • Vision : Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are all important for tasks like inspecting equipment, reading gauges, or identifying electrical wiring.
  • Hearing : The ability to hear and discern sounds and recognize differences between them, important for identifying operational issues with machinery or communicating effectively with other team members.
  • 4. Exposure to potential hazards

  • Working in various environments : Inside and outside, in various weather conditions, and in areas with extreme temperatures, noise, or vibrations.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials : Potentially coming into contact with chemicals, fumes, dust, or gases, and requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing,according to Wright State University.
  • Working around machinery and electrical equipment : Understanding and adhering to safety procedures and using caution around moving mechanical parts, high-voltage equipment, and the risk of electrical shock.
