The Disaster Case Management program at JFSLA provides case management support to survivors of the LA Wildfires. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the case management team including coordination of the intake process, client financial support, team productivity and overall quality of service delivery. This position works under the direction of the Program Director, ensuring compliance with contract / grant eligibility requirements. This position is time limited and is estimated to end after two years.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • MA Degree in Social Work or related Social / Human Service field required.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory work experience required.
  • Experience in case management and community-based service delivery with diverse populations.
  • Ability to coach, train, and provide quality supervision to case management and administrative staff.
  • Ability to research and command strong knowledge of community-based resources to assist case managers in appropriately connecting them to clients.
  • Strong proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to quickly learn electronic client record / database systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound casework judgment and budget management skills.
  • Experience with contract compliance and oversight of documentation guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to utilize telehealth platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, and complete projects within specified timeframes.
  • Strong organizational, assessment, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with a multicultural client population.
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental manner, foster positive outcomes, collaborate as part of a team, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to employment.
  • Current, unrestricted California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Oversight of all aspects of case management activities for FEMA disaster case management program including initial assessment, case planning, advocacy, interventions, and housing navigation / support. Ensure maintenance of monthly budget guidelines and use of funds.
  • Oversee and implement the intake process by reviewing client referrals, assign, and monitor caseloads of case management staff toward full capacity.
  • Orientation and onboarding of case management staff, provide weekly one on one supervision / coaching sessions with staff.
  • Monitor performance of staff, provide ongoing training and professional growth opportunities using supportive and collaborative approaches.
  • Review case manager assessments and case notes. Ensure documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner to comply with data collection requirements and performance measures
  • Provide case consultations, monitor team productivity and maximize caseload capacity as well as ensure quality service delivery.
  • Assist program director in engagement of outreach efforts with other providers supporting Wildfire survivors including legal, government, social service providers and other external stakeholders.
  • Attend required agency, program, and funder related meetings.
  • Attend all required training to increase supervisory and management skills, as well as disaster case management training to increase knowledge of scope of work and compliance with program and contract requirements.
  • Oversee program quality assurance, including ongoing review of electronic client records to ensure compliance with funder regulations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
