ATI is hiring a CNC Machinist III for our Huntsville, Alabama facility. This is a 2nd shift position and typically works Monday through Thursday from 2 : 15pm - 12 : 45 am.

As a CNC Machinist III, you'll play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, utilizing your expertise to set up, operate, and maintain computer-numerical-controlled (CNC) machinery. Your responsibilities include producing precision parts according to specifications, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring high-quality production output.

Responsibilities :

  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
  • Prepare CNC machines for operation by loading tools, entering program codes, and adjusting machine settings based on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Operate CNC equipment to manufacture parts with strict adherence to quality standards, ensuring accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional correctness.
  • Conduct meticulous inspections of finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards in accordance with ISO 9001 & AS9100.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of production output, machine maintenance, and any encountered issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics (geometry, trigonometry) and part drawings / standards.
  • Perform set-up, adjustments and operate CNC 3 Axis and 5 axis machines according to instructions with minimal supervision or assistance.

    • Requirements

    Basic Qualifications :

  • Technical Degree or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in CNC machining are required.
  • 6-10 years of experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role, demonstrating proficiency in operating and setting up CNC machinery.

    • Skills, Abilities & Preferences :

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, travelers, sketches, CNC programming, and utilization of measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality, precise parts within specified tolerances.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with team members while also working independently as needed.
  • Actively champion and maintain a culture of 5S

    • Physical Requirements :

    Capable of lifting and moving heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled area, but does involve elevated noise levels at times
