About the Role

We are seeking a strategic Upstream Global Product Manager  to lead the development and commercialization of  smart human-machine interfaces (HMI)  and  advanced visualization solutions  (e.g., medical-grade displays for surgical, imaging, interventional, and endoscopy applications; AI-based HMI for surgical, procedural navigation and guidance). This role will define the product strategy, drive cross-functional execution, and own the  end-to-end lifecycle  of our global portfolio.

You will collaborate with a  global team , take  P&L ownership  of Barco’s standard and custom products, and engage with  top MedTech players  across diverse modalities and clinical segments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market-Driven Product Strategy

  • Define the  product vision, strategy, and roadmap  based on market dynamics, user needs, and competitive insights to drive sustainable growth.
  • Lead  value proposition development , including market research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis to identify unmet needs and business opportunities.
  • Develop  portfolio strategies  for target clinical settings, ensuring optimal segmentation, pricing, and differentiation.

2. End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management

  • Partner with  Sales, Product Marketing, Project Management, and R&D  to drive  new product introduction (NPI)  and  lifecycle management (LCM) .
  • Steer  advanced development and pre-study projects  to align with business objectives.
  • Build  business cases  for new products / features, including  ROI analysis, pricing strategies, and risk assessments  for global markets.
  • 3. Commercialization & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Develop  Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies  with Sales and Marketing to ensure successful product launches.
  • Co-create  marketing assets, sales collateral, and training programs  to enable commercial success.
  • Support  global exhibitions and events  to drive market engagement.
  • Monitor  sales performance (topline & bottom line)  and optimize for sustainable growth.
  • Qualifications

    Education :

  • Master’s degree in E ngineering, Science, or related field  (MBA is a plus).
  • Experience & Skills :

  • 5+ years in Product Management , with hands-on experience in  NPI and LCM for medical devices / systems  (displays, imaging, or surgical tech preferred).
  • Proven track record of  owning and scaling a product / portfolio  with measurable business impact.
  • Deep knowledge of  medical device development  (V-model, Agile, DHF / DMR, FDA / MDR / NMPA, IEC / ISO standards).
  • Strong  business acumen —ability to prioritize needs, make data-driven decisions, and drive execution in a matrixed organization.
  • Fluent in English & Chinese  (English as primary working language).
  • Exceptional  communication, pitching, and stakeholder influence  skills.
  • Experience at the  intersection of hardware, software, and services  (preferred).
  • Analytical mindset —able to measure project, operational, and sales performance (P&L, ROI, timelines).
