We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Newport Beach, CA. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to supporting clients through every stage of their personal injury claims.

Job Summary :

The Junior Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the firm overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and ideally experience working in a legal or professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist with month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Perform account reconciliations and promptly resolve any discrepancies.

Support audits by preparing schedules and addressing auditor inquiries.

Prepare and post journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions.

Assist in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasting activities.

Analyze cost accounting data to support decision-making processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting processes and controls.

Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff as needed.

Assist in ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by management.

Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) cycles, including invoice processing, vendor management, collections, and revenue recognition.

Conduct regular reviews of general ledger / vendor statement accounts and assist in journal entries and trust account reconciliation.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in accounting,

3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment (but not mandatory).

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Proficient in Excel

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Important to have a sense of urgency and ability to work in a high-volume environment

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of integrity and confidentiality.
