Overview :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the team at downtown Colorado Springs office. This role is ideal for someone with strong in-house payroll processing experience and a solid understanding of payroll laws and compliance standards, including FLSA. The right candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role after a successful temporary assignment.
Key Responsibilities :
Process end-to-end payroll, including summarizing, examining, posting, verifying, and reconciling payroll data.
Maintain accurate annual and quarterly payroll reports, ensuring all payroll transactions are fully documented.
Coordinate, calculate, and post payroll-related adjusting entries to appropriate subaccounts with supervisory approval.
Reconcile various reports such as taxes, retirement contributions, and vendor payments.
Recommend and document improvements to payroll processing procedures and workflows.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 5 years of prior payroll experience required (not necessarily ADP).
In-house payroll experience is essential.
Experience with Lawson Software is preferred.
Strong understanding of payroll-related laws, tax regulations, and FLSA compliance.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
Must be willing and able to work onsite at our Colorado Springs office .
