Monday – Friday, 8 hr day shift
SUMMARY
The Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, control systems and electrical equipment in the Lettershop as well as other Print Services. The E.C. Technician performs work of high skill in the inspection repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical power plant equipment and systems in support of plant management. The E.C. Technician will be responsible for electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repairs at all levels while the main focus will be on issues of a high degree of difficulty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical incidentsPerform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systemsMaintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipmentParticipate in the administrative maintenance of the plant procedures, operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive / predictive maintenance recordsAssist in operation of plant equipment and systems as directedInspect repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 410 voltsParticipate in plant housekeeping activities as directedConduct troubleshooting and analysis on Equipment PLC’s and PC control systemsMaintain all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipmentFully support and participate in Safety and Regulatory Compliance ProgramsPerform all tasks qualified to perform due to knowledge, experience, training or license heldComplete other tasks as assigned by plant managementMachine design projectsExisting machine modifications (Electro / Mechanical)New machine and / or machine component design and installationTesting of alternative solutionsAutomationData acquisition and analysis – Use of DMAIC principles to guide improvement priorityLean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement projectsMachine software enhancementMaintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.Keep manager / supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and companyEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma preferably from technical based schoolTwo to Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Controls TechnologyElectrical Engineering experience (Collegiate level to potential co-op / intern opportunities)Experience in machine design and automation (Collegiate level to potential co-op / intern opportunities)COMPETENCIES
