Job Description

A Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting tests and inspections to ensure compliance with the company’s highest product quality standards. This role involves analyzing materials, documenting results, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues according to EMTEK standards and hardware industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional and dimensional verification of raw materials, WIP components, and finished goods products.
  • Perform material test analysis, such as hardness, surface adhesion, and environmental exposure analysis in a laboratory setting.
  • Prepare quality test reports, identifying non-conformities and deviations from standards.
  • Document and analyze test results, maintaining accurate and organized records.
  • Assist Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to identify root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Management and Engineering functions to drive product performance activities.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and test reports.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the lab.
  • Provide guidance and support when product quality issues are reported by the operations management team.

Qualifications

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience : 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory or quality assurance environment, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with laboratory instruments and testing knowledge of inspection tools, gages and test mathematical and analytical skills.Ability to interpret technical data and specifications.
  • Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail and problem-solving communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Work Environment :

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Requires standing for extended periods and handling lab equipment.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.

    Additional Information :

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range : $55,000 USD - $65,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
