The Veterinary Account Executive is responsible for growing the company’s network of veterinary partners through new client sales and business development. This will be accomplished by communicating the value proposition of our program to key stakeholders within veterinary clinics in Salt Lake City and surrounding states.
For this role, we are primarily targeting Salt Lake City, asking someone to travel regularly to meet with new prospects and grow new markets.
What you will be accountable for :
- Managing a sales pipeline by making outside sales in-person field visits and, phone calls / emails / other outreach to prospective veterinary clinics
- Presenting our program and value proposition to veterinary clinic owners, office managers, and paraprofessionals.
- Consistently maintain your opportunity pipeline and forward-looking forecasts. Maintain our CRM with accurate customer notes and opportunity information.
- Attending industry events and association meetings as required by management.
- Probe for and understand the competitive landscape; effectively communicate our competitive differentiation to prospects and address competitive activity.
- Assist with enterprise vet partnership efforts (vet chains >
5 locations, consolidators, associations, etc.).
Drive vet channel / 3rd party partner management strategy.Maintain and refine a disciplined sales & follow-up process that brings efficiency.Coordinate closely with our Employer Sales team to target high-value micro-markets and build our network in places of highest demand.Partner with marketing vendors to create and refine sales collateralWhat you will need to be successful in this role :
Ability to travel up to 50% of time in your assigned territories in Salt Lake City and surrounding states as our business needs evolve.Must be pet passionate and possess a strong belief in UPC mission to make world class pet care affordable to pet parents everywhere.2-3+ years successful sales in veterinary, veterinary hospital and / or pet insuranceAn innate entrepreneurial drive, embodying an attitude of pleasant persistence and patienceHighly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and with their team in a fast growth environmentInherent ability to effect change, a natural leader, relationship builderComfortable presenting in front of large groupsAbility to gain the attention of decision-makers and close sales with a consultative selling approachExperience launching a new product or building a book of businessDemonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly establish rapport.Confident and effective working both independently and as a part of a team.Excellent general business and financial acumen; understanding of pricing, ROI, and the financial impact of vet-related products and servicesProficient in Microsoft Office applications, CRM systems, sales reporting / dashboarding tools, sales sequencing tools.
