Under the direction of the Office Manager, the Operator is responsible for all duties related to the PBX. The Operator is responsible for promoting positive communications with all departments within the Clinic and affiliated agencies including but not limited to physician’s offices and insurance companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- The Operator is responsible for operation of the Clinic's PBX system to relay incoming and outgoing calls as necessary. The Operator will be responsible for overhead pages for the clinic, including code situations. The Operator will have access to an up-to-date extension list and an up-to-date phone list for employees.
- Manage large volumes of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner : greeting callers, always identifying self and clinic and provide quality customer service on every interaction.
- Demonstrate Great communication skill w / patients and team
- provide direct assistance or take messages and direct calls to the appropriate party.
- Navigate through patients’ chart in EHR to locate appropriate information
- Verifies coverage under insurance
- perform data entry for new pt as needed
- Abilities to document phone encounters accordingly
- Schedule / reschedule appointments.
- Retrieve all required patient / customer information, including demographic and appointment needs.
- adapting successfully to changing situations & environments.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and leadership
Requirements :
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
High school graduate or equivalent, Medical Assistant – preferred. Basic typing skills required with ability to use office equipment required; basic course in medical terminology preferred.Bilingual Preferred.
