This role is ideal for a proven Manager or Asst Controller with a professional services firm who is ready for Controller role.Public accounting experience (any firm size) and CPA a plus but not required. Responsibilities

• Gain a thorough understanding of the accounting department as part of succession planning to become the future CFO
• Train side by side with the CFO, who has decades of experience at the firm and is nearing retirement
• Assist with the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the firm's general ledger.
• Accounting knowledge of accounting methods : cash and accruals.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other accounts.
• Partner with the CFO and external accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely filing of S-Corp income tax, property tax, and other tax filings
• Ensure the integrity of accounting processes, systems, and data.
• Adhere to accounting policies and procedures
• Ensure accurate and timely reports are provided to stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects.
• Assist in preparing annual budget and forecasts.
• Assist with the books and records of investment partnerships
