Job Description

Catalyx is seeking an experienced Automation / Software Engineer to support the on-site development, configuration, and validation of a Cytiva Bioreactor Batch Data application built on Ignition SCADA software. This role involves close collaboration with process engineers, IT / OT stakeholders, and quality teams to drive the project lifecycle from user requirements through implementation, protocol execution, and final acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS).
Configure and optimize a custom Ignition application to acquire and visualize batch data from Cytiva bioreactor systems.
Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ / OQ / PQ) in alignment with GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11.
Troubleshoot technical issues during testing and deployment phases.
Support integration with other digital systems (, MES, LIMS, historians).
Maintain accurate project documentation and validation records.
Serve as the on-site technical lead, driving project execution and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or related field.

3–7+ years of experience in industrial automation, process control, or SCADA / HMI application development.

Hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA platform (Inductive Automation) — including Perspective and Vision modules.

Familiarity with biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, especially involving Cytiva bioreactors or related process equipment.

Strong knowledge of validation protocols (IQ / OQ / PQ) and regulated environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).

Experience with URS / FRS development and lifecycle documentation.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively in an on-site cross-functional team environment.
