The Manager position within Medical Relations is responsible for managing congress logistics and execution as well as provides support for external engagement across therapeutic areas including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, narcolepsy and pipeline therapeutic areas of interest. Additionally, this role serves as the central coordinator for all Field Medical Affairs activities.

This role requires an individual who is self-motivated, flexible, diplomatic, resourceful, and possesses strong project management skills. The candidate must be capable of working and solving problems independently in a fast paced / demanding environment. This position is eligible for the hybrid workplace model, requiring work to be completed onsite at our Waltham, MA office at least 3 days per week. This role is not eligible for fully remote work. This role is within the Medical Affairs department which is part of R&D at Alkermes and will report into the Sr Director, Medical Relations and work will work in close collaboration with the Field Medical Leadership Team.

  • Execute the operational and logistical planning of tier 1 congresses under the direction of Medical Relations leads. This includes : Secure and manage on-site meeting room needs including arranging applicable catering, AV and appropriately executing and tracking paymentCollaborate cross-functionally to manage Medical team member registrationsSecure exhibit space and manage and support exhibit process including liaising with vendor and managing internal review processDevelop and update brief bio sketches for distribution across Medical and R&DParticipate and contribute to congress working group meetingsInitiating communications and managing relationships with Thought Leaders (TLs) through the completion of the event(s).
  • Serve as primary contact for TL engagement platform including executing contracts, liaising with the vendor for on-boarding and communicating updates, partner with internal team members for platform updates
  • Manage and update TL engagement SharePoint site ensuring materials are current
  • Support digital workstream initiatives including responsible for meeting minutes, support in the creation and execution of digital awareness materials, project support for the digital opinion project including identification and tracking
  • Provide on-site support for the team at conferences, advisory boards, and guest speakers.
  • Support compliance, corporate meetings group, and outsourcing with tracking information related to the Federal Open Payments Disclosure Program for advisory boards, steering committees and guest speaker series.
  • Manage flow of and track of all planned and ongoing Field Medical team projects and initiatives
  • Support Field Medical meeting planning and logistics for National and Regional meetings.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for the Field Medical team in home-office support
  • Manage and update the monthly field medical team reports (including but not limited to MAST insights, CNS & Neuroscience MSL SharePoint sites, and various project team SmartSheets)
  • Develop processes and systems to track and report on Field Medical activities utilizing available systems
  • Support development of team presentations and updates to management
  • Liaise between HR / Learning & Development to coordinate onboarding activities for newly hired CNS and neuroscience MSLs

Support the development and maintenance of standard operation procedures (SOPs) for MSLs

Ability to work independently in a hybrid working model in our Waltham location 3 days / week

An undergraduate degree with 7-10 years or a graduate degree with 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in operations and / or project management

  • Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally as well as work autonomously
  • Ability to prioritize activities, manage multiple tasks within deadlines, and act with minimal supervision
  • Knowledgeable or confident with various technology, including Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint, SmartSheet, and / or Tableau. Ability to run reports, identify metrics, and pull insights from data.
  • Alkermes has recently adopted a hybrid working environment to support and meet the needs of employees and this role will operate in a flexible environment with 60% of time in the office and 40% from home. This position is eligible for the hybrid workplace model, requiring work to be completed onsite at our Waltham, MA office at least 3 days per week. This role is not eligible for fully remote work.
