A Brief Overview
Provides classroom, clinical instruction and academic advising independently. Serves as a mentor for faculty colleagues new to the faculty role. Participates and may take a leadership role in curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation. Takes a leadership role in SON committees and other activities, and participates on University committees. Takes an active role in professional and community service activities at local and state levels. Demonstrates growth in professional development and scholarship. May take a leadership role in ADN to MSN program with coordination duties / or Student Success Coaching / or Technology Coordination / or IDEA coordination for the SON. May provide online classroom and advising duties in the ADN to MSN program or MSN program as assigned.

- Masters Degree In a nursing related field. Required

Plans, creates, and delivers clinical educational instruction and academic advising to nursing students. Uses established and innovative methods to enhance instructional process.Evaluates effectiveness of educational outcomes. Identifies opportunities for improvement based on regional and national current best practice. Participates in the research methodology, data collection, analysis and recommendation.Integrates research, EBP, and standards of practice in theory and clinical teaching. Synthesizes and integrates research findings in teaching and clinical practice. Prepares articles, presentations, seminars and workshops regarding clinical practice and / or education in local, state and / or regional forums.Assist in the accreditation process as necessary; provides documentation to show standards are met.Recognized as effective teacher by students and school of nursing colleagues.Delegates tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care and department activities in accordance with the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act.Makes recommendations to faculty / administration on equipment and resources.Collaborates with professional colleagues to promote evidence based practice as it relates to simulation.Assists with identification, process development and implementation of online learning technologies that enhance student learning.Evaluates clinical sites for suitability.Serves on taskforces and / or committees to promote or improve the school and educational process.Maintains certification in area of specialty practice or CNE, as applicable.Required for All Jobs
