Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer we are looking for should have a high electro-mechanical aptitude with desire and ability to work effectively as a team member with a strong supporting role to the Maintenance Team. Candidate should be experienced in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical / electronic and mechanical equipment. Emphasis will be placed on electrical / mechanical troubleshooting, plant wiring, PLC programming, robot maintenance and programming, electronic component troubleshooting and repair, installation of components, reading and creating electrical wiring diagrams, teaching and mentoring Maintenance Associates and all phases of plant equipment troubleshooting.
Work responsibilities to include : Work directly with Plant Engineering to specify electrical / electronic requirements for Capital improvements, Project Management scope includes installation and commissioning for new equipment, general equipment inspection to determine root cause of reported problem as well as design of problem solution. Process Improvement and Continuous Improvement to improve plant operations and control systems. Supervisory experience and understanding in working with a union shop is preferred.
Essential Skills / Experience
- 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience
- Electrical troubleshooting skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting Skills
- PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, TI, Siemens, Wonderware)
- Robot programming and maintenance (Kuka, Motoman)
- Read and understand mechanical and electrical / electronic drawings
- Ability to determine root cause
- Ability to train Maintenance Associates in troubleshooting techniques
