Utah Valley University is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy individual to join its AV Services team in supporting the university's dynamic learning and working environments. This role provides hands-on support for audiovisual (AV) systems across campus, assisting faculty, staff, and students by troubleshooting issues, maintaining equipment, and ensuring classrooms and event spaces are equipped for seamless communication and collaboration. As part of a collaborative team, you'll contribute to the installation, configuration, and testing of AV systems, support system upgrades, and maintain accurate equipment inventories. Summary of Responsibilities
Services / Support / Troubleshooting : Support, troubleshoot, and assist with all campus AV systems and spaces for faculty, staff, and students. Answer calls from the AV support help line and respond to customer incident reports. Track incidents in the service management system SMS.
AV Integration : Maintain optimal system performance by documenting system issues and installing hardware, cabling, computers, and peripherals as needed to resolve support incidents. Assists with campus event support as assigned.
AV Maintenance : Performs routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and basic testing of AV equipment. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and one year of any combination of computer related education and / or technical support and customer service experience related to the Summary of Duties.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
Knowledge of AV equipment and computer software sufficient to instruct others in their usage and installations. Knowledge of inventory management practices.
Skills
Experience working in a customer service, team-oriented, collaborative environment; highly self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly. Construction practices and power tools. Skills in customer service orientation. Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Abilities
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requests based on the organizational goals and objectives of the university. Ability to operate, maintain, and perform repairs to media equipment. Ability to lift and manipulate 50 pounds. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
