Area Manager - Phoenix

Position Overview

We are seeking an Area Manager to oversee subcontractor cleaning operations across multiple grocery store locations. The Area Manager will ensure that nightly cleaning standards are met, special projects are scheduled and completed, and subcontractor performance aligns with client expectations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors performing overnight cleaning in grocery stores.

  • Monitor service quality, safety, and compliance with scope of work.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure subcontractor accountability.
  • Scheduling & Project Management
  • Develop and manage schedules for both day-to-day cleaning tasks and special projects (e.g., deep cleaning, floor care, seasonal work).

  • Balance subcontractor availability with client needs to ensure seamless coverage.
  • Technology & Reporting
  • Utilize ServiceChannel for scheduling, work orders, reporting, and tracking subcontractor performance.

  • Submit reports, update records, and maintain digital documentation of service quality and completion.
  • Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
  • Act as the first point of escalation for client concerns and subcontractor challenges.

  • Troubleshoot issues onsite and provide effective solutions to minimize disruption.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Client & Subcontractor Relations
  • Build positive relationships with store managers and subcontractor teams.

  • Provide clear direction and expectations to subcontractors.
  • Partner with clients to anticipate needs and plan special project work.
  • Qualifications

  • Previous experience in facilities, janitorial, or cleaning industry preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with ServiceChannel or similar work order / task management platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.
  • Strong communication skills for working with subcontractors and client stakeholders.
  • Spanish language skills preferred (to better engage with subcontractor teams).
  • Flexibility to work overnight and travel between sites as needed.
