Content Marketing Specialist Reports to :

  • Content Marketing Manager Summary : As the Content Marketing Specialist, you will be the driving force behind our lead generation and nurturing engine.
  • We're looking for an individual who is passionate about helping small businesses succeed.
  • Your primary focus will be to attract, convert, and nurture leads through compelling content.
  • This role requires a talented writer to create our email marketing automations, develop high-value lead magnets, and build SEO-optimized landing pages for maximum organic reach and conversions.
  • This is a hybrid role based out of our office.
  • For candidates outside of a commutable distance, we are open to a remote work arrangement within the state of Oregon.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Write, build, and manage our newsletter and sophisticated email nurture automations designed to move leads through the sales funnel.
  • Ideate, write, and produce a steady pipeline of high-value lead generation tools and downloadable resources (e.g., templates, checklists, guides).
  • Build and optimize SEO-focused landing pages to host downloadable assets / tools and encourage conversions.
  • Create and manage HubSpot Embed CTAs within our website content to encourage purchases.
  • Conduct keyword research and apply on-page SEO best practices to all lead generation content landing pages, ensuring they are optimized for organic discovery and conversion.

  • Own email marketing within Hubspot, focusing on building and managing effective workflows and newsletters that nurture leads.
  • Analyze the performance of email campaigns, landing pages, automation, and lead generation assets, using data to iterate on content and strategy for improved results.
  • Collaborate with the Acquisition Manager to develop lead generation strategies, email drips, and lead magnets designed to encourage purchases.
  • Partner with the Social Media Content Creator to craft compelling newsletter content and align on lead magnet strategies to drive lead generation.
  • What Success Looks Like :

  • Overarching Goal : Develop and optimize a robust lead generation engine through email marketing, downloadable resources, interactive tools, and automated nurtures to effectively drive Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) generation and growth.
  • Objective 1 :

  • Cultivate a highly engaged email audience that drives qualified traffic and contributes to lead generation and nurturing.
  • Key Result :

  • Grow the LivePlan newsletter subscriber base by 5-10% MoM through new lead magnets and organic sign-up optimization opportunities.
  • Key Result :

  • Maintain an average newsletter open rate of at least 14% across all sends.
  • Key Result :

  • Achieve an average newsletter click-through rate (CTR) from email to website of at least 5%.
  • Objective 2 :

  • Build a powerful lead-capture engine by creating downloads and interactive tools.
  • Key Result :

  • Create and launch at least 2 new lead generation tools or downloadable resources per month.
  • Key Result :

  • Increase total keywords related to the topics of our lead generation resources each quarter.
  • Key Result :

  • Generate 2,000+ new Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) per quarter directly attributed to new downloadable assets.
  • What You Bring to the Job :

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to create compelling, SEO-optimized copy that converts readers into leads.
  • A high level of business acumen, with the ability to understand and write about complex financial topics such as cash flow, forecasting, and financial statements.
  • Experience managing newsletters and building complex email nurtures and automations that guide users toward a purchase.
  • Proficiency with Hubspot or a similar marketing automation platform.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret email and web traffic metrics to drive strategy and results.
  • Proficiency with AI content tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude) to assist in content creation and optimization.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with SaaS or financial technology (FinTech) industries is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS for landing page and email customization.
  • Experience with vibe coding tools such as Loveable, Base44, or similar tools is a plus!
