The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the strategy for demand planning, inventory management and procurement from our global partner factories to our domestic customers. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
Our ideal candidate will have experience performing the following job duties preferably within a manufacturing / distribution environment :
Primary duties will include :
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers in a timely manner and troubleshoot any process problems
- Help to maintain ERP system (NetSuite) content including, but not limited to, item attributes, lead times, MOQs, supplier contacts, etc.
- Identify / drive process improvement opportunities, and support ad-hoc projects as required
- Monitor and document product that is in transit and communicate with freight forwarders as required.
- Maintain demand planning review processes to improve forecast accuracy and reduce aged inventory.
- Refine business systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs
- Manage the documentation required for all shipments forwarding required documents to internal and external customers, updating information in our ERP system (NetSuite), and communicating progress to all stakeholders.
- Participate in the inventory reconciliation process for both offsite and onsite warehouses.
- Deliver commitments on time and as needed
The successful candidate will have :
Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3+ years of relevant experienceHigh level of supply chain, planning and operations background preferred, with experience in multiple disciplines (e.g., manufacturing, planning, logistics, etc.)Previous import / export experience (e.g., communicating with freight brokers, understanding import charges, HTS codes, etc.)Previous experience working with suppliers in Asia a plusDetail-oriented and able to prioritize.Excellent verbal and written communication skills (such as negotiation, influence, and presentation skills), with the ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate stakeholders to meet business objectives like eliminating excess / obsolete inventoryDemonstrated problem solving, time-management, customer service, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, leadership, organization, and communication skills (e.g., ability to track and plan multiple shipments & open orders simultaneously to proactively communicate any issues)Ability to deliver results under pressure, work independently, and take ownership of assigned tasks.Ability to anticipate and resolve vendor issues.A strong sense of urgency.
