Salary of $82,500 to $92,500 DOE

JOB SUMMARY

3rd shift   Production Supervisor (Medical Manufacturing)

Hours :

  • Monday 11 : 00 PM -7 : 30 AM
  • Tuesday 11 : 00 PM -7 : 30 AM
  • Wednesday 11 : 00 PM -7 : 30 AM
  • Thursday 11 : 00 PM -7 : 30 AM
  • Friday 11 : 00 PM -7 : 30 AM (Shift ends on Saturday morning)

We are actively recruiting for a  3rd Shift   Production Supervisor for our City of Industry, CA plant location within our Healthcare division of Tekni-Plex.

Supervise employees in a manufacturing environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related filed preferred or 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills working across multiple departments, management levels and functions.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • 4-5 years of supervisory experience, preferable in manufacturing
  • Highly developed level of problem-solving skills to manage the production function, utilizing resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership with innovative and proactive management techniques.
  • Ability to handle various projects / tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer knowledge in Windows based programs (, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business demands.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, Plastic and / or polymers is preferred
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
