We are seeking an experienced and motivated People Operations (HR) Generalist to join our People Operations Department. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by supporting employees, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Position Overview :

The People Operations (HR) Generalist will be responsible for managing core people operations functions with a focus on workers’ compensation and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in handling all aspects of workers’ compensation claims and compliance. Experience in benefits administration is strongly preferred.  Candidates with experience working in a captive or self-insured insurance environment will be given priority consideration.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all workers’ compensation claims, including documentation, reporting, claim management, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations related to workers’ compensation.
  • Partner with managers and employees to provide guidance on workplace injuries, safety protocols, and related policies.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, accident, critical illness and retirement plans.
  • Support other people operations functions, including employee relations, onboarding, policy development, and performance management.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HRIS.
  • Collaborate with the People Operations team on projects related to engagement, culture, and compliance.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR experience, with proven expertise in managing workers’ compensation cases from start to finish.
  • Experience with benefits administration strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience with Paycom is a plus.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification a plus.
