Mechanical Fitter (FTC – 16 Weeks, potential extension / permanent)

Location : North Kent

Day Rate : £250

Hours : Monday – Friday 08 : 00–16 : 00 (37.5 hrs)

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Fitter to join a globally renowned organisation . This is a 16-week fixed-term contract with the potential for extension or permanent employment. You’ll play a key role in supporting world championship events infrastructure and equipment , ensuring vital systems are built, maintained, and ready to travel internationally.

The Role :

  • Bench fitting and assembly for technical support rigs and global infrastructure .
  • Accurate interpretation of engineering drawings .
  • Light machining using small lathes and milling machines .
  • Maintenance, modification, and repair of specialist equipment.
  • Hands-on contribution to the engineering workshop .
  • Desirable) TIG welding in aluminium / FLT Counterbalance operation.
  • Occasional) international travel to support equipment setup, repairs, and field operations

Candidate Profile :

  • Completed mechanical engineering apprenticeship OR 5+ years’ engineering experience .
  • Strong workshop skills with a proven ability to read and work from drawings .
  • Practical, hands-on problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Desirable) TIG welding capability and / or FLT Counterbalance licence.

    • Additional Requirements :

  • Valid UK driving licence .
  • Valid  passport (small chance of international travel required).
