Working as a Spanish Interpreter at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center you will :

  • Facilitate communication between patients and families with LEP and medical center staff.
  • Provide accurate, comprehensive, and professional medical interpreting services in-person or remotely.
  • Recognize the complexity of the clinical encounter relative to the language barrier, adjust communication to the level of understanding and / or need for clarification.
  • Use culturally appropriate behavior to choose the appropriate time to clarify or interject.
  • Maintain a sense of cultural awareness while respecting the goals of the encounter.

    Qualifications

    Required :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of work experience in a medical interpreting role, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Unique Skills

  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Reliable transportation
  • Preferred :

  • National medical interpreter certification
