Position Overview :
Reporting to the Head of Creative, the Senior Designer is a multidisciplinary designer who can take a project from Creative Brief to execution across ideation to design and delivery for social media and advertising, graphic design, retail and wholesale printed materials, basic video editing, motion graphics, reformatting assets and delivery. The Senior Designer will be tasked with spearheading projects where they work start to finish on one campaign as well as being a contributing member of the broader Marketing team where they collaborate and contribute to one aspect of a bigger campaign. The candidate brings experience from both an in-house brand perspective as well as an agency mentality to producing, multitasking and presentation of concepts, art and ideas.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Ideation : Works with the VP of Creative & Art Director to ideate and kickoff projects and campaigns that work within Marketing Briefs and brand standards while pushing the Blenders brand beyond where it has been historically.
- Presentation : The Sr. Designer has a proven process for sharing their ideas and concepts prior to execution that includes storyboarding, mockups, sketches and sharable presentations for signoff across Creative & Marketing
- Design & Execution : Working closely with the Art Director, the Sr. Designer is a self starter and finisher, creating across still, video, motion graphics and graphic design within brand standards, briefs and campaign direction
- Collaboration & Producing : The Sr. Designer also works as a contributing Creative team member, providing graphic design solutions to the Creative Department, Content Creators, Wholesale support, Social Media and outside Marketing and Creative Agencies. This position will require producing shoots and art alongside other photo, video and design members of our Creative & Marketing team.
- Delivery & Distribution : Works with cross functional channel leads and outside vendors to deliver finished, proofed, final assets for internal and external distribution on time.
- Communication : As both a leader and contributor, the Sr. Designer is a strong communicator when seeing approval of ideas and art, both in person and virtual, and an expert at design time management.
- Asset Maintenance & Organization : Maintains an organized system of the Blenders collateral, photos, image archive, and print and digital assets and a system for backing up source, working and final motion deliverables

You are a strong communicator and have the ability to prioritize and project manage work while adhering to critical timelines via our Project Management tool, BasecampYou have an eye for layouts, typography, illustration, motion graphics, photo retouching, design and how to communicate a message through the proper channelsYou have a thorough understanding of design and digital marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the projectYou are a natural story-teller : You have the ability to visualize the story and communicate it to others effectivelyYou are able to own a project from start to finish, working autonomously, but welcoming feedback and collaborationYou have experience collaborating with a team to be successful and Project Management to onboard requests, give status updates and deliver final assetsYou bring new and innovative ideas to the tableWork Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field6+ years of creative experience within a brand and an agency setting working across branding, graphic design, motion graphics, video editing, photo & video captureExperience in storyboarding for concepts, video and social media stories desiredA self starter able to Project Manage, produce, work with creators,, design and edit when directedStrong experience with industry-standard design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud)Experience in Basecamp, Figma, Adobe XD, After Effects a plusKeen understanding of graphic / web design principles, print specs and current web technologiesMust work onsite or hybrid 3+ days a week from the San Diego officeNormal working hours are Monday through Friday (8 : 30AM-4 : 30PM)Powered by JazzHR
