Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock / consolidation / deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.
Job Summary :
The Dispatcher Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of dispatchers and drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of daily transportation operations. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of logistics, and comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations. The Dispatcher Supervisor serves as a key liaison between customers, drivers, and management, driving operational excellence, financial health, and high customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
Supervise and lead a team of dispatchers and drivers, fostering accountability, communication, and performance excellence.
Schedule and monitor driver assignments to ensure efficient routing, balanced workloads, and compliance with all customer delivery and pick-up requirements.
Ensure compliance with all National and State DOT laws and regulations; provide reminders and ongoing training to drivers regarding safety and compliance.
Maintain a minimum of 99.5% on-time performance by proactively identifying and resolving traffic, routing, or operational issues.
Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
Review and analyze operational performance metrics; recommend and implement improvements for efficiency, cost savings, and service quality.
Respond to emergencies or urgent situations following company safety and accident protocols.
Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, routes, performance issues, complaints, and corrective actions.
Ensure equitable distribution of work among drivers and uphold high morale across the team.
Support financial accountability by monitoring department costs, productivity, and profitability across customer accounts.
Train, coach, and evaluate dispatch staff, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.
Prepare and review dispatch documentation and reports for management.

Skills & Competencies :
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold a team accountable.
Strong understanding of logistics operations, freight management, and route optimization.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and safety standards.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities; able to prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch / logistics software.
Ability to adapt quickly and make effective decisions in urgent or changing situations.
Education & Experience :
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3–5 years of dispatching, transportation, or logistics experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in freight operations and customer / vendor communications strongly preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements :
Professional office setting with frequent use of phone and computer systems.
Occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting may be required.
Must be able to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
Full-time, on-site position with occasional remote flexibility depending on operational needs.
Schedule :
Monday - Friday 8am-6pm after training.
Training with be Monday-Friday 6am - 4pm
Pay : 66,000 - $70000
