Release Train Engineer

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

Acts as leader, coach and agile expert for agile teams / shapes helping them and the organization to adapt and use agile principles and practices e.g. SAFe, Scrum). Fosters successful teamwork and creates a high performance environment within the teams and shape. Tailors GDS way of working and drives systemic development of GDS organization with extensive knowledge about business agility

  • Guides and teaches all shape members (e.g. SO, PM, PO) in applying and adhering to lean agile principles and practices to develop an agile mindset.
  • Removes and helps the shape to identify impediments, dependencies and risks by bringing all involved parties together (incl. cross shape / cluster collaboration).
  • Ensures shape ceremonies like e.g. PI Planning take place and are facilitated with high quality.
  • Responsible for shape effectiveness and ability to deliver continuous flow of value.
  • Leads efforts based on data driven insights for relentless improvements to continuously improve shape processes, tools and practices and initiates organizational change.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors a team of motivated team coaches.
  • Supports Digital Security Managers on including security alignments in agile processes
  • Drives and monitors team, shape, cluster and GDS metrics that supports systemic improvement for GDS & BSH as a whole.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science / Engineering) – Required
  • 5-7 Years of Experience (Agile Coach / Release Train Engineer) – Required
  • Proven work experience as a Release Train Engineer or similar role in Agile projects.
  • Deep understanding of Agile frameworks, specifically Scrum and SAFe
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in facilitation of Agile events, such as Scrum ceremonies and PI Planning.
  • Proficiency in Agile project management tools.
  • Certification as a SAFe Release Train Engineer or similar
  • Travel Percentage – 10%

    The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

    Benefits offered include the following :

The plan provides a fully vested 100% employer match on the first 4% of compensation contributed and also includes an annual employer-funded profit sharing contribution dependent on company profitability.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.
  • Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.
  • The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).
  • 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
  • 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
