Amazon DSP Dispatcher

  • The Dispatcher is required to drive and execute routes during the week.
  • On Road Duties
  • Communicate effectively to Drivers concerning on-the-road issues, as the first point of contact for the PRBN dispatch line.
  • Resolve on-the-road issues received by the Drivers quickly to minimize customer impact, working hours compliance violations, and late deliveries.
  • Execute sweeps when needed in a timely manner to avoid late deliveries, impact on customer promises, and working hours compliance.
  • Monitor excessive rescue needs for Drivers and escalate the Operations Lead to the coach.
  • Monitor stop duration for Drivers and address immediately.
  • Address messages received from Amazon via Chime regarding Driver on-road performance.
  • Coordinate rescues on the road to minimize customer impact, working hours compliance violations, and late deliveries.
  • Track and escalate fleet issues such as inoperable vehicles, and vehicle damage to the Fleet Lead and Operations Lead immediately.
  • Escalate towing, tire change, and battery jump needs to the Operations Lead immediately prior to proceeding with contacting roadside assistance.
  • Act as back-up Driver, as needed to ensure proper daily coverage of routes.
  • Inventory Management
  • Oversee inventory management conducted by Lead Drivers to ensure all equipment and supplies needed for Drivers are recorded and replenished. Escalate to Ops Lead as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is labeled and associated with a vehicle.
  • Keep the PRBN area at the Amazon station clean, neat, and free of clutter at all times.
  • Training
  • Identify training needs for Drivers and provide guidance on the road and / or once the Driver returns to the station. If on-the-road training is suggested, escalate to the Operations Lead for further action.
  • Train Lead Drivers on dispatching duties, monitor their progress, and provide mentorship.
  • Performance and Safety Reviews
  • Daily review Mentor, Netradyne, and Scorecard results by Driver and provide real-time feedback to Drivers on the road or when he or she returns to the station regarding performance, safety, and quality of deliveries.
  • Track conversations with Drivers and share with the Operations Lead weekly.
  • Escalate issues identified, e.g., a Driver was coached 3 times regarding the same issue to the Operations Lead for further action.
  • Opening / Closing
  • Oversee Lead Drivers during opening activities to ensure driver pouches are prepared and distributed to Drivers on time.
  • Prepare the daily van assignments spreadsheet.
  • Lead morning stand-up meetings as needed to discuss standard work, safety tips, success stories, and other pertinent topics.
  • Edit route assignments as Drivers call out to ensure all routes are covered and executed on time.
  • Conduct closing duties ensuring all vehicles and pouches are sanitized, phones / battery packs are charged, vehicles are fueled, and the daily report is sent to management.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the current processes and procedures, cut costs, improve delivery performance, and escalate such ideas to the Operations Lead.
  • Execute ad-hoc projects to improve the flow of work and delivery performance for PRBN as directed by the Operations Lead.
