Membership Specialist
The Membership Specialist will represent our martial arts studio by providing a welcoming, informative and entertaining experience for all members and guests during their visits. The Membership Specialist is responsible for driving potential members into the gym to deliver industry leading customer services to them as well as our current members. This service must translate into exceeding revenue targets issued by management through both internal and external prospecting. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Appointment Booking
- External marketing, promotions and prospecting are daily activities that require off site promotions including distributing passes, building relationships with local merchants and branding events to inform the community of our gym and services, ultimately resulting into leads.
- Internal marketing and prospecting. This includes gathering lead referrals through current member base through relationship building and referral tables.
- Book membership appointments through productive phone activities and meet or exceed monthly appointment goals set forth by the company using their proven marketing systems.
- Ensure that appointments are booked to translate into enough guests and meet or exceed monthly guest goal set forth by the company.
- Use Social Media to post content multiple times per week to attract new leads, monitor Social Media to interact and answer questions from members and leads, and promote events.
- Plan and execute community events to enhance brand awareness and represent the studio in our community (school talks, promo booth). Be a brand ambassador.
Guest Touring & Membership Presentations
Ensure that all guests are warmly greeted at the door and presented the "Studio Tour" when touring guests around the gym as detailed in the Program Director Manual.Conduct personal private lesson resulting in an enrollment conference where guests are presented program options. (These enrollment conference translate into enrolling 80% of the guests).Implement the Opportunities Systems to educate current members about other programs gym offers.Use the company approved presentation when presenting membership options to non-members. Ensure each new member meets the head instructor before completing the sales process and exiting the gym.Ensure sales financial goals are met or exceeded each month.The minimum expectations of a Membership Specialist is to write 10 New Memberships and 5 Upgrade Packages each month after the probation period of the first 3 months.Ensure integrity of each sale by attaching supporting documents and signature (corporate approved specials, discounts, etc.) with each agreement.Customer Service
Follow up with members that have enrolled to ensure we are exceeding expectations.Provide the highest level of customer service possible when communicating and interacting with guests.Assist in maintaining a clean and operational facility.Manage and help resolve any member issues.Plan and execute monthly member retention events to keep members engaged and show appreciation to our members (parent night out, parents as coaches, workshops).Miscellaneous
Schedules are pretty consistent week after week with flexibility for being out of the studio for marketing and community events. All Membership Specialist must be available to work evenings and weekends (as needed). Requests for days off must be given in writing and exceptions can be made by the Manager.Monthly "All Team Meeting" and "Daily Production Meetings" are mandatory.The Membership Specialist uniform consists of a studio branded shirt (Gi top for intros) and MMA pant which will be provided.Organization Relationships
The Membership Specialist will interact with studio staff. The Membership Specialist will also communicate with members, guests and vendors in the community regarding company promotions and membership packages to support club sales. This position will be required to work as a team to accomplish normal operational efficiencies (inventory, POS, cleaning, etc). This position has no direct reports.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Strong sales experience.End-User knowledge of use of Facebook, Instagram, and Google for promoting events, interacting with leads and members, and building a community amongst members.Martial Arts Experience a plus.Ability to work with computers.Must have good interpersonal communication skills.Excellent customer service skills.Independent, self-starter with strong organizational skills.Must be a team player.Able to start part-time while in training, then move to full-time salary + commission + bonusMinimum certifications / educational level
High school degree or GED required.Must complete company sales training and orientation program.Minimum experience
1-2 years sales experience preferred.Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 45 lbs.Typing, using the telephone and computer mouse.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and stair climbing.Ability to demonstrate proper fitness techniques.
